Who we are
Connected Learning Foundation Ltd (ABN 88 689 986 641) (‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’) is a registered Australian charity. We deliver Mighty Me™, a structured, facilitator-led wellbeing program, free of charge in schools and community organisations to children who are hard to reach and experience disadvantage.
We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our commitment to privacy goes beyond legal compliance: we work to the highest standards in protecting the information of the children, families, schools, supporters and partners we work with.
Information we collect
Website information
When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information about your visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system and the pages you visit. We also collect information you choose to give us through our forms, such as your name, email address, organisation and any message you send. If you subscribe to updates, we keep a record of your subscription preferences and email interaction history.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. We use two analytics tools to understand how people use our site:
- Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, your approximate location (such as your city) and the type of device and browser you use.
- Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with our pages, including where they click, how far they scroll and how they move their mouse, and produces session recordings and heatmaps.
Our website is intended for supporters, partners, school staff and media, not for children.
Supporter and partner information
When you register interest, make a pledge, enquire about a partnership or become an ambassador, we collect your name, contact details, organisation and the nature of your interest or support. Donations, when we accept them, are processed securely by our payment provider; we do not store card details.
Program information
Mighty Me™ is delivered through schools and community partners. To deliver the program safely, we may receive a child’s name, school and year level, along with parent or guardian and emergency contact details. Where needed for a child’s safety and wellbeing, we may also receive relevant medical information, such as allergies, medications, or learning and behavioural considerations our facilitators should be aware of.
How we use your information
Website
We use website data to understand how visitors interact with our content and to improve the experience, including reviewing session recordings and heatmaps to find parts of the site that are confusing or hard to use. When you contact us, we use your information to respond to your enquiry.
Supporters and partners
We use your details to respond to you, manage your pledge, partnership or ambassador relationship, issue receipts where relevant, and share updates on the impact of your support. You can opt out of updates at any time.
Program delivery
Program information is used to run sessions safely, keep attendance, communicate with schools and families, and respond appropriately to any medical or behavioural situation. Medical and dietary information is shared only with the facilitators who need it. Any impact reporting we share with supporters is de-identified.
Third-party services
We use trusted third-party providers to run our website and services, including website hosting, analytics (Google and Microsoft), email, and the forms you use to contact us. These providers handle information on our behalf and under their own privacy policies.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where information is sent overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled appropriately.
Opting out of analytics
You can stop Google Analytics collecting data about your visits by installing Google’s opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). You can also block cookies in your browser settings. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites) and the Microsoft Privacy Statement (privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement).
Information storage and security
We maintain strict security protocols to protect your personal information. Our digital records are stored in secure, encrypted systems accessible only to authorised people through multi-factor authentication. Our team receives regular privacy and security training so everyone understands their responsibilities in protecting your information.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you or your child, and ask us to correct it if it’s wrong or out of date. To do this, contact us at sana@connectedlearning.au.
We’ll respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. There’s no charge to ask for access or a correction. In some limited circumstances we may not be able to give you full access or make a requested change, for example if it would affect another person’s privacy. If that happens, we’ll explain why.
Making a complaint
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer first so we can address your concerns promptly. We will investigate all complaints and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
